We love homemade pizza.  I know Valentine’s is around the corner and I didn’t want to blog about any sweets.  I am trying to watch my diet and I really don’t think the kids need sugar as they are bouncing off the walls wanting to be outside instead of inside so much.  So I thought I would share a few tips on making your own Valentine’s Homemade Pizza.  I know that you can add a few more Valentiné’s Recipes in your dinner.  A lot of time you just have to take something simple and add a few hearts to the item and it can be festive for the holiday.

First off, I have toddlers and they probably won’t be doing too much for Valentine’s.  My son is in Preschool but he is in a very small class.  This is a great meal for Valentine’s night or if you really wanted to out-do yourself you could make some pizza for a class as well.

I love this simple crust that I borrow from Budget 101 Pizza Crust. I always keep the supplies around as this is one of my kid’s favorites.

We also teach you how to make your own Marinara Sauce.  Do your remember how to make your own Marinara Sauce? It was a while back so I thought I would have the recipe handy.

Of course, you can add your own fixings on your pizza.  Tonight we just made a simple Turkey Pepperoni Pizza.  I also had busy toddlers so I didn’t have time to shred the cheese. I just sliced it and put it on the pizza. I normally love supreme.  I didn’t have very many ingredients at home.  So I just did without and made the best pizza I could with the current ingredients on hand.

I need to tell you some funny things that happen. My oldest son who is 3 decided to put a huge Sam’s Club size yeast in with the flour.  I had turned around to get a tablespoon and the damage was already done!  We had to throw that one out.  By the time I made the second pizza crust, my youngest son woke up from his nap. I  was making the marinara sauce and we had it stirred and ready to go when my youngest son put his juice in the marinara sauce to help with the cooking.  So I’m sorry the heart shape is not perfect.  This post was a little more adventurous than I was anticipating.

Pizza is so reasonable and most kids love pizza and Valentine’s sounds like a great excuse for a homemade pizza night.  Do you have any Valentine’s Dinner Recipes are you are wanting to try this year?

I hope you check out the rest of these tasty recipes that my friends have put together.  We enjoy bringing the best to you every holiday!  I hope this recipe is kid tested, mother approved in your household as well.  Enjoy a “non-sweet” recipe if you are watching your calories.
